UK-Gaming Rules
.Welcome to UK-Gaming, where you can relax. In order to help you relax here, there are a few ground rules, which if broken will result in either a warning or a ban, depending on the severity. Ignorance is not an excuse with these.
Rule breaking will result in the following:
First Offence: Un-Official Warning
Second Offence: Official Warning
Third Offence: Account Suspension (1Week).
Fourth Offence: Account Suspension (2 Weeks).
Fifth Offence: Permanent Ban.
Breaking these results in either a Suspension or a Ban:
Depending on the severity of your post you could be warned, suspended or banned if you break any of these rules.
1. No Posting unsuitable images and pornography:
If you post anything of a pornographic nature you will be suspended or banned. This includes:
- Posting links to porn sites or direct images
- Private Messaging anyone with links or images
To clarify this:
Briggers810 wrote:If images aren't suitable for people in a work/school environment who would see them, then they aren't suitable to be posted. So hence I would encourage you to refrain from posting images such as the one shown earlier in this topic, so that:
- The people hosting both our site and Black Legion's don't cancel the webhosting and blacklist us.
- People in a work or school environment don't get questioned about the images (which may appear in random topics or topics not thought of to contain such images) by their ICT department.
2. No Forum bullying:
Any evidence of bullying will result in a suspension/ban depending on the severity of the bullying.
Insulting another forum member will result in a suspension/ban depending on the severity of the insult.
This IS a serious issue and we WILL remove you for upsetting someone else.
3. No Racist/Homophobic Insults:
No racist or homophobic insults. This one is actually completely simple. Do not be racist or homophobic to anyone. Any posts of a homophobic or racist nature will be deleted and the poster will be suspended or banned
4. No Abusing a Staff Member:
The staff at UK-Gaming give up their own time to help out with this forum. If you are abusive to a member of staff you could be warned. If you have any grievances with a Staff Member, pm either a Team Leader or an Administrator and they’ll look into it.
5. No ROMS, Wares and Other Illegal Stuff
Linking to anything illegal will get you banned So this includes ROMs, emulators, free music, TV downloads etc. IF you are not sure if something is illegal or not then use your head and simply do not post it. It is not worth the risk.
Discussion of these sorts of things however may be allowed at a VERY low level so mainly just reference but please don't be a Muppet and make a topic asking how to get hold of X by illegal means.
6. No PM Advertising:
Advertising via PMs is strictly forbidden, it is a nuisance and only annoys other members as well as discouraging them from actually joining your website. If you advertise PM, your right to PM will be revoked.
7. No Excessive Spamming:
Any spam 'attacks' where members deliberately ruin the forum with repeated spamming
8. Posting From Multiple Accounts:
Posting or registering multiple accounts onto the UK Gaming forums is not allowed. Any member doing so could end up with all their accounts banned from the site.
Repeat Offences:
Please stick to these rules. If you break them repeatedly you will be issued a Warning.
1. No Posting unsuitable links:
If you post a link to a site containing explicit or mature content (including swearing) then the link will be removed. Continue to do so and we will issue you with a Warning.
2. No Excessive Swearing:
Swearing is allowed here TO A DEGREE. This does not mean we will tolerate excessive and inappropriate use of language nor does it mean you should now fill as many posts as you can with as many swear words as you can think of. We allow it so long as it isn't too over the top and isn't used for flaming purposes so:
"Oh shit, you were supposed to read the rules before posting" - Is ok
"WTF is going on?" - Is ok.
"You sir, are a prick" - Is NOT ok.
We have made it clear, be careful.
3. No "Backseat-Modding":
If you're not part of the UK-Gaming Staff then please don't point out every violation of a rule. If you notice a violation, please use the report button to contact the staff. We will then take care of the issue.
Briggers810 wrote:If you see something that breaks the rules:
1. click the report button () by the offending post,
2. Enter the reason why it breaks the rules
3. A moderator will then see that it has been reported and will deal with it.
All without antagonising the offending poster and annoying other members.
4. No Deliberately starting arguments:
Please don’t start a thread just to create an argument, if you do this, the thread will be locked by a Community Team Member. If you continue to create argumentative threads, you will be issued with a Warning.
5. No Excessively Repeating topics:
If you want to see if a topic exists use the search button.
6. No Excessive Double Post:
This counts as spamming. Refrain from doing it. You can always use the edit button if you want to add to a previous post.
You may however double post if it has been 48hours since your last post.
7. Avatar Rules - 100 pixels in width and 100 pixels in height.
The current limit on avatars is 100 pixels in width and 100 pixels in height.
Avatars must follow the above rules, for obvious reasons.
If a member of the UK-Gaming Community Team, decides to check the size of your avatar and finds it to be above the size limit, you may be receiving a PM asking you to re-size it within 24hours.
The reason for this is to make it easier for people reading PMs as some people have avatars that fill 1/4 of the actual PM content.
Reducing the avatar sizes would also increase the speed at which the forum is running.
8. Signature Rules - 800x200 / 5lines of text:
The current limit on signatures is 800 pixels in width and 200 pixels in height. or 5lines of text.
Signatures must follow the above rules, for obvious reasons.
You can only have a maximum of 5 links in your signature. Staff are exempt from this rule.
If you see a signature that is rather over the top PM a Community Team Member.
